TEACHING JOBS
TEACHER — (1.0 FTE) INTERMEDIATE ELEMENTARY; FULL-TIME; 2024-2025 ASSIGNMENT: Intermediate Elementary (except Music and French) WHEN: starting Aug.28, 2024 CLOSING DATE: Ongoing until a suitable candidate has been selected

We are now accepting applications for a full-time, Intermediate Elementary (Gr.4-7 range) teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. This position is a replacement position due to a retirement.

The successful candidate will have qualifications/skills which include, but are not limited to:

  • Possession of a valid BC Professional Teaching certificate/diploma
  • Experience as a teacher in ELEMENTARY and/or MIDDLE YEARS
  • Experience working with pre-teen aged students
  • Strong formative and summative assessment practices
  • Excellent understanding of and experience with differentiated instruction
  • Ability to work with diverse students by using various teaching strategies
  • Possession of excellent listening and communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with staff in a team approach
  • Demonstration of excellent teaching practices using current pedagogical best practices
  • Ability to integrate a biblical worldview into all lessons
  • Demonstration of excellent classroom management skills
  • Evidence of a strong understanding of and support for Christian education
  • A strong personal commitment to the Christian faith 
  • A commitment to the Statements of Faith as outlined in the school’s faith statements as well as the statements of faith as outlined by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI)

TEACHER — (1.0 FTE) LEARNING SUPPORT TEACHER; FULL-TIME ASSIGNMENT: Learning Support Teacher Gr.K-12 WHEN: starting Aug.28, 2024 CLOSING DATE: Ongoing until a suitable candidate has been selected

We are now accepting applications for a full-time, LEARNING SUPPORT TEACHER teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Special Education Director and the CRCS Administration team. The successful candidate will have qualifications/skills which include, but are not limited to:

  • Possession of a valid BC Professional Teaching License
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Education (or Graduate Diploma in Education) or a related field; Special Education certification is an asset
  • Experience as a teacher in K-12 schools
  • Experience and comfort teaching small groups, one-to-one instruction, and in-class support
  • Excellent understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Familiarity and skill with computer and technology tools
  • Strong formative and summative assessment practices
  • Excellent understanding of and experience with differentiated instruction
  • Ability to implement current best pedagogical and evidence-based practices for learning
  • Ability to work with diverse students by using various teaching strategies
  • Possession of excellent listening and communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with staff and families in a team approach
  • Demonstration of excellent teaching practices using current pedagogical best practices
  • Ability to integrate a biblical worldview into all lessons
  • Demonstration of excellent classroom management skills

Teachers Teaching On Call (TTOC) (Substitute teacher)

We are now accepting applications for TTOCs (substitute teachers.) We are seeking teachers who can teach in classes from grades KG - 12. Applicants are required to have:

  • a valid BC or Canadian teaching licence
  • a university degree
  • be a practicing Evangelical Christian
  • enjoy working with students 
  • are flexible and able to adjust as the duties or day requires

On-Call Special Education Assistant (SEA)

SEAs at CRCS are certified para-professionals who assist in developing the character, spiritual and educational potential of the student(s). CRCS has a need to have SEAs available for hire for potential incoming students. The position and contact days are 5 days a week.
The SEA duties include and are not limited to these responsibilities:

  • Praying regularly for the student(s) and their family/families
  • Overseeing instructional programs for the student(s) as directed by the teacher
  • Reinforcing or following up on assignments with the student(s)
  • Strong communication skills with and to associated team members
  • Keeping accurate student records
  • Attending meetings as required
  • Other responsibilities as required for the development and management of the student(s)
