Our Purpose

Our Focus

The Foundation of Education

A. God is the Creator of all truth. (Genesis 1:1 and John 1:3)

B. Jesus Christ is the Sustainer of all truth.

C. The Holy Spirit is the Revealer of all truth through the Holy Scriptures which He inspired.

    1. Because sin has marred mankind, the work of the Holy Spirit is necessary to enable people to discern truth.

    2. The Bible stands as the absolute basis from which facts are interpreted. (John 17:17)
True education should be built on, centred in and continually judged by Christ and the Scriptures.

Psalm 24:1 "The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof. The world and they that dwell therein."

Our Goals

1. That student conduct be the outgrowth of godly thinking, godly being and godly feeling.

2. That students learn self-discipline, acting out of inner conviction not just outward conformity.

3. To acknowledge that unless the Lord builds the house (of our students' lives) its builders labour in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city (our school) the watchmen (parents/ teachers) stand guard in vain. (Psalms 127:1)

Our Objectives

The purpose and objectives of the Campbell River Christian School are based on the Christian view of God and the world. It is the specific purpose of our school to provide a program of education which, while upholding a standard of scholastic excellence, has its integrating centre in the Triune God and fosters vital Christian living.

The training of children is considered the responsibility of the home, asserted and supported by the church and the school. A definite effort is made to have all three units in a fully integrated program, so that the Christian faith may be developed.

Some objectives are:

1. To teach that growth in the Christian life depends upon fellowship with God through Bible reading, prayer and service.

2. To teach the application of Biblical principles to every part of daily life.

3. To teach the need of world missions.

4. To integrate all subjects with the Bible.

5. To develop the creative skills of the student, an appreciation of the fine arts, and effective communication skills.

6. To equip the student with a strong apologetic.

7. To equip the student with the knowledge and skills required for further education and occupational competence.

8. To teach the student responsible, individual and cooperative work habits.

9. To develop an awareness in the student of the current problems facing our country and the world.

We Each Have Our Role

Role of the Parents

The Bible teaches that training of children is primarily a parent responsibility and that children are a gift of God entrusted to parents. (Deuteronomy 6:6,7) Christian parents should help their children develop so that they will stand firm for Christ when they mature. (Colossians 2:7)
Role of the Church

The "Great Commission", given by Jesus to the church, included the command to teach obedience to all of Christ's commands. (Matthew 28:20)

God gives to certain people within the church the ministry of teaching. (II Timothy 2:2) Parents can delegate some teaching to others, but it should not replace teaching within the home.
Role of the School

As far as the Bible is concerned, the function of transmitting truth and educating the youth belongs to the home and the church. School should be an extension of home and church education to complement and reinforce their teaching and values.

The Campbell River Christian School desires that the entire learning process be Christ centred, enhance church life and promote strong Biblical families.
