FULL-TIME STAFF POSITIONS — 2026-2027 School Year

Job Overview - Bus Driver

Campbell River Christian School (CRCS) is seeking a reliable and dedicated Bus Driver to join our team. This role plays a vital part in our school community by ensuring the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school, field trips, and other school-related activities. As a Christian school, we seek individuals who reflect Christ’s love in their interactions and who are committed to supporting the mission and values of our school community. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to interact positively with diverse groups of individuals.

Salary: $25.32 - $27.29/hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a bus on designated routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Ensure the safety of all passengers during transit, including conducting pre-trip inspections of the vehicle.
  • Communicate effectively with passengers, parents, and school staff.
  • Educate passengers about safety protocols and bus etiquette.
  • Assist children in boarding and disembarking from the bus, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of the bus by performing routine checks and reporting any mechanical issues.
  • Document any incidents or issues that occur during transit and report them to the appropriate authorities.
  • Foster a positive environment by being approachable and responsive to passenger needs.

Experience

  • Possession of a valid BC Class 2 driver’s license with air brake endorsement.
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract with no major violations.
  • Current First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Prior experience as a bus driver is preferred

Additional Information:

  • The start date is as soon as possible.
  • Regular hours include morning and afternoon school runs, with opportunities for additional hours during field trips or extracurricular events.

PART-TIME STAFF POSITIONS — 2026-2027 School Year

POSITION: TEACHER — Temporary Part-Time: 0.18 FTE  

Teaching Assignment: September 9, 2026 - June 25, 2027

ASSIGNMENT: Semester 1: Careers 9 (1 class 2x/week), Missions 12 (1 class 2x/week). Semester 2: French 10 (1 class 2x/week), Careers 8 (1 class 2x/week)

Salary range: $8,830.80-$16,563.60)

We are currently accepting applications for a part-time, temporary Careers Education 8/9, Missions 12, and French 10 teaching position from Sept 9, 2026 to June 25, 2027. The successful candidate will have qualifications/skills which include, but are not limited to:

  • Possession of a valid BC Professional Teaching certificate/diploma 
  • Experience working with Middle Years students
  • Strong assessment practices and familiarity with the Proficiency Scale of Assessment
  • Demonstration of and growing understanding of incorporating Indigenous-focused learning

Position: Evening Custodian (Part-Time)

Hours: 2:00 PM - 8:30 PM (30 hours per week while school is in session)

Salary: $23.13/hour - $27.64/hour depending on experience

Reports To: Vice Principal

Position Summary:

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, welcoming, and secure school environment that reflects the care and excellence of our Christian school community. Working independently, the custodian performs routine cleaning duties, monitors the facility, and ensures that classrooms and common areas are clean, orderly, and prepared for the following school day.

The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, and approachable, with a heart for serving students, staff, families, and the broader school community. The custodian is expected to demonstrate a positive attitude, respect for others, good judgment, and a willingness to go above and beyond to help create a warm and caring environment. The position may also assist with basic facility setups, seasonal projects, minor cosmetic repairs, furniture assembly, and custodial or safety concerns as they arise, always carrying out these responsibilities with joy, integrity, and a Christ-centred spirit of service.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous custodial or janitorial experience considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and use of custodial equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physically able to perform cleaning and facility duties, including lifting, bending, standing, walking, moving furniture, and operating custodial equipment.

Working Conditions and Schedule

  • Regular hours are 2:00 PM - 8:30 PM, Monday to Friday, for a total of 30 hours per week while school is in session.
  • The regular 2:00 PM - 8:30 PM schedule is designed around the operational needs of the school while students and staff are present and following dismissal.
  • During periods when school is not in session, including Christmas Break, Spring Break, and Summer Break, the position will continue to work approximately six hours per workday; however, start and finish times may fluctuate depending on the cleaning, maintenance, project, and facility needs of the school.
  • Some flexibility may occasionally be required for special events, school activities, emergencies, or other operational needs.
  • Work involves physical activity including lifting, bending, walking, standing for extended periods, moving furniture, and using custodial equipment.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and custodial equipment.

CASUAL/ON-CALL JOBS

Teachers Teaching On Call (TTOC - Substitute teacher)

We are now accepting applications for TTOCs (substitute teachers.) We are seeking teachers who can teach in classes from grades K - 12. Applicants are required to have:

  • a valid BC or Canadian teaching licence
  • a university degree
  • be a practicing Evangelical Christian
  • enjoy working with students 
  • are flexible and able to adjust as the duties or day requires

On-Call Education Assistant (EA)

EAs at CRCS are certified para-professionals who assist in developing the character, spiritual and educational potential of the student(s). CRCS sometimes has a need to hire EAs on a per diem basis when we are short-staffed. EA hours are Mon-Fri, 8am-3pm.


The EA duties include and are not limited to these responsibilities:

  • Overseeing instructional programs for the student(s) as directed by the teacher
  • Reinforcing or following up on assignments with the student(s)
  • Strong communication skills with associated team members
  • Keeping accurate student records
  • Attending meetings as required
  • Other responsibilities as required for the development and management of the student(s)
  • Adhering and being in agreement with CRCS's and ACSIWC's Statements of Faith as well as CRCS's Mission and Vision Statements
