TEACHING JOBS for the 2024-2025 School Year

SUPPORT STAFF POSITIONS
CUSTODIAN - (Part-time: 4 hours/day [effective immediately]) Salary range: $19.11/hr - $22.84/hr

Campbell River Christian School has an immediate opening for a part-time custodian to cover the afternoon/evening shift, 3-7:30pm.

The successful candidate will have qualifications/skills which include, but are not limited to:

  • Being a faithful follower of Jesus Christ
  • Being an active member of a Christian Church
  • The ability to perform a wide variety of custodial duties
  • Working towards exceptional cleanliness and improvements for the school
  • Engaging in work requiring mechanical abilities
  • Maintaining HVA systems and plumbing
  • Following and maintaining knowledge of school policies and procedures
  • Being willing to take relevant training including, but not limited to, Health and Safety training
  • Being physically able to move up to 50 pounds/22.7kg
  • Having the strength and dexterity to operate custodial/maintenance tools and machinery, cleaning equipment, and other power tools
  • Being a great team player including working with another custodian and other staff members
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and timely manner with other custodial staff and immediate supervisor
  • Enjoying working in a school environment with children K-12
  • Demonstration of a clear understanding and support of CRCS's & ACSI's mission statements.

EDUCATION ASSISTANT
SPECIAL EDUCATION ASSISTANT - FULL-TIME (Aug.28, 2024-June 17, 2025) (1 position)

At Campbell River Christian School, Special Education Assistants are para-professionals who work closely with teachers to support the educational/academic, spiritual, and character development of students on Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs), some of whom receive government funding to support their programming. SEAs receive their assignments from the Special Education Director and directly report to the classroom teacher with whom they are working.

Presently, CRCS has ONE immediate full-time SEA position available for the 2024-2025 school year. The hours are 8am-3pm, Monday to Friday. Remuneration is on a grid system based on training, qualifications, and experience.

The ideal SEA’s skills and duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Evidence of a strong understanding of Christian education
  • Willingness to uphold CRCS's and ACSI's (Assoc. of Christian Schools International) Statements of Faith
  • Possession of an Educational Assistant certificate or in the process of obtaining one. (Candidates without an Educational Assistant certificate must be willing to enroll in an educational assistant training course.)
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Adaptable, flexible, with a "can-do" attitude
  • Ability to meet and plan with the classroom teacher(s) on a regular basis
  • Ability to implement tasks and oversee instructional practices programmed by the designated teacher(s)
  • Prepared to supporting student(s) and regularly communicate with the classroom teacher(s) and SPED Director
  • Willingness to pray regularly for students and their families and participate in staff prayer meetings
  • Ability of reinforcing or following up on assignments with the student(s)
  • Ability to keep accurate student records
  • Ability to attend Staff, SPED, or Parent meetings as required
  • Willing to undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the SPED Director or Vice-Principal or Principal

Salary Range: $24,414-$32,808

CASUAL/ON-CALL JOBS
Teachers Teaching On Call (TTOC) (Substitute teacher)

We are now accepting applications for TTOCs (substitute teachers.) We are seeking teachers who can teach in classes from grades KG - 12. Applicants are required to have:

  • a valid BC or Canadian teaching licence
  • a university degree
  • be a practicing Evangelical Christian
  • enjoy working with students 
  • are flexible and able to adjust as the duties or day requires

On-Call Special Education Assistant (SEA)

SEAs at CRCS are certified para-professionals who assist in developing the character, spiritual and educational potential of the student(s). CRCS has a need to have SEAs available for hire for potential incoming students. The position and contact days are 5 days a week.
The SEA duties include and are not limited to these responsibilities:

  • Praying regularly for the student(s) and their family/families
  • Overseeing instructional programs for the student(s) as directed by the teacher
  • Reinforcing or following up on assignments with the student(s)
  • Strong communication skills with and to associated team members
  • Keeping accurate student records
  • Attending meetings as required
  • Other responsibilities as required for the development and management of the student(s)
