Interviews are scheduled between October and December annually on appointed dates (a Thursday evening after school and the following Friday, {half-day}, classes are not in session on the Friday). Interviews later in the school year may be arranged with teachers by sending them an email request directly (find teacher emails in our Parent-Student Handbook in the link provided on this page).
In 2023-24, the BC Ministry of Education and Child Care mandated that all schools move to a competency-based reporting framework for K-9. Students in K-9 now receive marks described using these terms: EMERGING, DEVELOPING, PROFICIENT, or EXTENDING. Letter grades and percentages are still used for Gr.10-12. Comments for ALL students use proficiency-based language and focus more and more on HOW the students are learning (competency-based) rather than just WHAT the students are learning (content-based). This is a work in progress, and we are all learning together on the big learning continuum.
