PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE - June 2026

Dear CRCS Community,

It is incredible to think that we are already counting down the final days of this school year. September seems so far away, and yet here we are, ten months later, with so many new and wonderful memories to look back on.

This year has brought many blessings, along with its share of challenges. Through it all, I am deeply thankful for God’s provision as we navigated many unknowns. Time and time again, He has proven His faithfulness to our school, and we have seen His hand at work in the life of CRCS.

One recent highlight was our Spring Concert, which featured so many of our students. Their God-given talents shone brightly, and they delivered a wonderful evening of music, creativity, and joy. It was a beautiful reminder of the many gifts God has placed within our students and the blessing it is to watch them grow.

As we look ahead to the final weeks of school, we have several special celebrations on the horizon. On June 4, we will gather for our All-School Awards Chapel to honour students for their hard work, growth, and contributions throughout the year. We will also celebrate important milestones through our Kindergarten graduation, Grade 7 graduation, and, of course, our Grade 12 graduation, as our graduates prepare to step into a new journey beyond CRCS.

We have also been blessed this year to have Mrs. Jodi Ellis join us in the Vice Principal role. Her calm, steady, and positive presence has been such a gift to our school community. We also want to give a huge thank you to Mrs. Hart, Mrs. Jackson, and Mrs. Webstad for stepping in mid-year to support our students and staff. Their willingness to serve has been greatly appreciated.

As we come to the end of the year, we are also preparing to say goodbye to some valued members of our staff team. Some of these transitions are due to restructuring, retirement, or new opportunities, and we want to take time to thank each of our departing staff members for the ways they have served and contributed to CRCS.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Maureen Scoville, Education Counsellor; Sydney Lipkovits, Custodian; Cathy Kennedy, Learning Support Teacher; Andrea Jackson, High School Teacher; and Diane Berry, Bus Driver. Each of them has played an important role in the life of our school, and we are grateful for the time, care, and commitment they have given to our students, staff, and families. We wish them God’s blessing as they step into the next part of their journey. On Wednesday, June 10 from 3:00-4:00 PM we will be having a farewell party to honour these staff members. Come join us in the library.

As I reflect on my first year as Principal, I feel truly blessed to be surrounded by such an amazing community of parents, students, and staff. While there have certainly been challenges, the meaningful moments, growth, encouragement, and shared experiences have far outweighed them. I am grateful for the ways this community has supported one another and continued to move forward together.

I am also already excited for next school year. We are moving ahead with a strategic plan that will help guide us in the coming years, and we have shared a yearly plan with staff outlining some of our key areas of focus for 2026–2027. One part of that plan that I am excited to share is our upcoming partnership with JOMO — the Joy of Missing Out.

JOMO is about finding joy in missing out on life-taking things such as social comparison, mindless scrolling, and digitally driven distraction, so that we can make space for what matters most. It is not about rejecting technology, but about choosing how we engage with it and why.

JOMO(campus) is a digital wellness program built on the belief that joy is found not in constant connection, but in intentional disconnection from what drains us and in reconnecting with what matters most: real relationships, deep focus, and a sense of purpose. We will share more about JOMO in the weeks to come and look forward to partnering with our families, students, and staff to bring greater awareness to digital wellness.

As we close out the year, we want to thank you for your prayers, support, encouragement, and patience throughout this busy season. We are grateful for the privilege of walking alongside your children and partnering with you in Christian education.

May you enjoy a restful and refreshing summer vacation. May the Lord bless you, refresh you, and restore us all.

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. ~ Isaiah 40:31

In His Service,
